on sunday DP informed me tyhat I had to make his nephew a quilt ….. for saturdays party

I have no boy fabric and definatley no Little boy fabric….. I was back at work on tuesday when I picked up these between tuesday and wednesday

then I made some strips and did this

the next morning I sanwiched and started to quilt but had to go to work, in a bright moment I loded my machine and basic supplies into the car and took them to work

and came home with one completed quilt

I needto remember to peice my lables into the back, it looks tidier but lack of time …..

Give me Squares lots of squares … Lol, hopefully its not too busy a week

these are the blocks I made this week

K-8 Spring brook Park…. don’t ask too much about this one, it was a major headache

K-12 Doris’s Dilemma, was suprisingly easy to put together, I could see this making a nice quilt possibly as a larger block

K-2 Grandpas chickens….. falls into the done is better than perfect category, thoes squares should be straight but if I spent too much time on it I’d just get frustrated

K-13 Brandon’s Star… I should look up who brandon is I like this block too

K-11 Columbine …. this one may have involved a little swearing , which is funny because “Spring Brook Park” didn’t it was a little challenging but I love the way it turned out

K-3 Seven Sisters….. I need to work on my squares being more square I think

K-9 Scouts honor, another easy one, wasn’t sure about the fabric but it seems to work quite well

now off to cut another 7

Dear Jane
and the quilt top I started at quilt camp which now requires turning into a quilt

now during the discussion of my small number of WIPs somebody suggested I could do 1 Dear Jane block a day, I like the sound of that but with work etc I often don’t get time to do anything at all in a day, so I figure, 7 per week is around about the same goal
here are the first 7 cut out ready to sew

I also finally managed to properly frame this little stitchery …. not sure what to do with it now

ok so it was a few weeks ago but we had a ball lots of talking some sewing some Crochet, lots of sharing of ideas

a lady from a Local quilt shop came and did a demo for a quilt using a Jelly roll that I really liked, then I found a Jellyroll that I really liked and got started another wip to add to the pile that I was ment to be finishing

onmy way out I had to go look at anew car the trip took me down a verry wet road followed by a very foggy Gwydir highway which to say was scary would be an understatement

I’ve spent the rest of this week picking out fabrics to be borders of my new quilt

its not the best photo but you get the Idea…. its too cold to muck around to much anyway…. I will definatley be making more of this….. now what to do with the leftover MM knit

after making my dress I realised my overlocker cover is in need of repair or replacement….. so I took my old scissors and cut along the seams untill I had the first  picture , and because I figure I won’t be replacing it again, I traced the shapes directly onto some fabric from my stash straightened the lines a little …. actually by the time I got to tracing the last piece I was dotting the corners and ruling the lines, then added 1/2in seam allowance, first I hemmed and attached the side of the pocket that wouldn’t be within a seam to the front (right sides facing sew down the line then flip back) and ironed the pocket flat before basting the other two sides, a full width pocket on this machine would be useless unless you added extra give as the table comes hard against the left hand side of the cover, then I cut the handle hole, with a 1/2 in allowance inside, cut to the corners on the angle (from corner of the allowance to marked corner of the hole) folded the alowance in and hemmed, I imagine this could be bound but this way was quicker and easier and with the amount of use this gets I probably could have left the edge raw forever with no worries, then I joined the sides front and back together the front was a little tricky as it has a little dogleg in it and finally I attached the top and hemmed the bottom and voila! easy as …. as long as you take care on the corners that is

I’ve had this tablecloth laying around for a while I’ve been meaning to make a skirt from it for ages, just as its previous owner had….. well last night after totally cleaning out my crafing room I finally got a round toit a simple measurement (widest part of the hips) a simple cut….. fold fold fold measure radius required snip and voila …. ok so I had to ad a casing and some elastic but …. I’m in love
